Circus Theatre | York University, 2014

A class theatre group decided to record our own rendition of a performance. This style of theatre is called 'happenings' involves spontaneous and theme-based acts. This performance mimicks circus acts from the 1980s happenings scene in New york city. Each act makes a 'joke' on the theme of identity. Scenes involve a man looking in the mirror, a woman's sense of nationality, changing gender roles, and gender stereotypes.
The sporadic editing of the video, shows different boxes popping up on screen. We edited our performance this way to make a point that during a live performance all angles of the stage can be seen and experienced. But on video, only 1 angle can be seen at a time unless the space is divided.

Double Life, Short Film, York U, 2011
Film students experiment with home video cameras to create a narrative that looks personal, flawed, and nostalgic. They are asked to apply different narrative methods from video games or films.
This short is about a young man dreams that he is awake, but there are certain things in his life that have changed. He is instructed by a dream guide to complete a series of tasks, similar to a video game, until he wakes up.
Editing techniques are meant to be short and variable.
